85th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada

Remember: n the gospel of John, Jesus prayed “that all may be one.”  On June 10, 1925, our United Church of Canada was born as a faithful response to this call.
Rejoice: We know that God has given to the world abundantly.  God’s love abounds and as we rejoice let us respond to God’s call to love and serve others.
Renew: We are called to listen once more to the call of God to love and serve others.  We are to think about how we are to be a people of God in this time and place.

This celebration of the church’s life and work is a very good day to give thanks to God and make a special over-and-above gift. 

Everyone is encouraged to give a special offering of 85!!
85 pennies (.85), 85 nickels ($4.25), 85 dimes ($8.50), 85 quarters ($21.25), 85 loonies ($85.00), 85 toonies ($170.00), 85 $5.00 bills ($425.00), 85 $10.00 bills ($850.00)or even higher!!!!
Through your gift, the joy of the anniversary celebrations won’t come to an end but will continue in the work done in our church, in the community and in the world!    All donations will be given to the Collier General Fund, the United Church Mission & Service Fund and to the Collier Mission Fund.

Use the special envelope, enclosed in the bulletin, for your gift of 85 and put it on the offering plate or give to the Church Office before Collier’s Anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 14th. Every contribution will add a slice to Collier’s symbolic anniversary “cake”.   Let’s create the biggest cake possible by the time we reach Collier’s anniversary.
